  • Jury
    Procedure:
The work and booth display of all applicants will be juried. All applicants (new and returning exhibitors) must submit four (4) images of their work and one (1) image of the display booth.

The images must be submitted on CD (no e-mails, and no DVDs). The images should be saved as jpg/jpeg files at 72 ppi and as tif at 300 ppi resolution. Images can be color-corrected, but not enhanced in any way. We also require a printed list of the images and their file names, which will ensure that we are viewing the correct submissions. Your name and judging category must be on the CD. In addition, a list of the five images to be juried must be included.

Please note that the Crafts Committee reserves the right to request further images from any applicant for any reason. If you decline to submit the requested images, your application will be voided, and TPFF will keep your $10 Jury Fee (but Booth Fee will be refunded).

Images should accurately represent your work. The image should fill the frame and be in focus. Please note that multi-item images do not usually judge well. It is best if you have a single item in each digital image. Note that the image of your display booth is not considered an image of your work. Only work of the type shown on the submitted four (4) digital images will be allowed to be sold. Please be advised that the Crafts Committee will request the removal of any work that differs from that represented in the submitted images.

The jury evaluates the applications based solely on the images on your CD. The jury is given no further information about you and has no knowledge of your name, your other work, or your website.

In fairness to all, there will be an on-site jury the morning of the show.

The Crafts Committee strives to provide diversity and ensure that all crafts are proportionally represented. Certain categories have a large number of applicants which means that there is more competition for the available slots for those categories. Previous participation in the TPFF does not guarantee that you will be accepted into this show.

Refund: An Application is a commitment to show. Except for the exception noted below, no refunds will be given after the acceptance notice is sent.

If you jury into more than one category, there is a chance that you will be accepted in only one category. If you do not wish to exhibit under those conditions, your booth fee will be refunded.

Liability: Exhibitors are responsible for their own insurance for displayed work, tools and/or equipment. The Takoma Park Folk Festival assumes no liability.
